The Yorkshire and Humber Community Development Network is one of a number of regional CD networks in England. It started life as the Regional Advisory Group (RAG-CD in 2003) and changed its name to come in line with all the other regional networks in 2007.

The network exists to promote and support Community Development Practice and Learning in our region. We try to do this by:

  • Bringing practitioners together to share their experiences and learn from each other

  • Demonstrating the relevance of community development to government policies and regional objectives

  • Updating community development practitioners on new initiatives and key areas of work

  • Preparing case studies to demonstrate community developments contribution to community empowerment and engagement

  • Representing community development on regional and sub regional bodies

  • Commenting on consultation documents and regional and local strategic plans relating to community development

We are an informal network run by our members; we have no paid staff and seek to share our practice in different ways. We seek funding for specific events of interest to us (current and past events). We promote quality community development learning.

All members can share information with others in the network and shape what we do and how.

We hope to develop this new site with information from our members and we will be posting up new material from the other regions as well. Contact us to make suggestions and share your news.
